According to DACO's Public Relations and International Affairs Department, the specialized VSP training course was held on 19 May 2026, with the participation of technical experts from DACO and the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC). The program was organized as part of DACO's commitment to developing human capital, enhancing technical expertise, and improving the accuracy of geological and geophysical studies supporting the Integrated Development Project of the Azadegan Shared Oil Field and the Field Target Plan (FTP).
Hosted at the Company's conference hall, the course focused on updating participants' technical knowledge in geological and geophysical studies while familiarizing them with the latest methodologies, data-processing techniques, and operational practices in the field.
During the training sessions, participants examined a range of key topics, including VSP field acquisition procedures, data processing workflows, and the role of VSP technology in improving the interpretation of subsurface data and achieving a more accurate understanding of the Azadegan reservoir's geological characteristics. The sessions also provided a platform for technical discussions and knowledge exchange among specialists from both organizations.
As one of the most advanced geophysical technologies, Vertical Seismic Profiling (VSP) plays a significant role in enhancing subsurface imaging accuracy, reducing interpretation uncertainty, and supporting more informed decision-making in oil field development projects. Its application in studies of the Azadegan Shared Oil Field is expected to improve the quality of technical analyses and contribute to more efficient and integrated field development.

Vertical Seismic Profiling (VSP) is an advanced geophysical surveying technique that records seismic waves within boreholes to generate highly detailed images of subsurface formations and reservoir layers.
