According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Dasht Azadegan Arvand Oil & Gas Development Company (DAOGC), on 31 May and 1 June 2026, DAOGC hosted representatives of the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), the Employer of the Integrated Development Project for the Azadegan Shared Oil Field. During these sessions, the fourth and fifth joint meetings were held to review the Contract Strategy Document and the Procurement Plan for Phases I and II of this national project, with particular emphasis on revising work packages, tendering strategies, and procurement requirements.
The technical meetings were attended by members of the Joint Management Committee (JMC) subcommittees representing Strategic Planning and Performance Monitoring, Upstream Development, Surface Facilities, Project Management, and Production & Operations. Participants conducted a comprehensive review of all work packages, tender execution strategies, contract structures, and procurement requirements.
The primary objective of these meetings was to optimize execution approaches for the project's work packages, enhance economic efficiency, strengthen project risk management, improve cost control, and safeguard project assets. During the review of the Contract Strategy Document, particular attention was also given to local content requirements and maximizing the participation of domestic manufacturers, contractors, and suppliers, recognizing these as key priorities of the project.
The Contract and Procurement Strategy Document for the Azadegan Field Development Project, covering the project's implementation horizon of approximately eight and a half years, was originally prepared by DAOGC and has since undergone continuous review through five specialized technical meetings. To date, more than 300 work packages included in Revision 00 of the Contract Strategy Document have been comprehensively evaluated, with their technical, contractual, procurement, and execution aspects carefully reviewed through close collaboration between DAOGC's specialist teams and the Employer.
Following extensive technical discussions between DAOGC and PEDEC, it was agreed that Revision 01 of the Contract and Procurement Strategy Document, incorporating all agreed revisions and final conclusions, will be finalized in the coming days and submitted to the members of the Joint Management Committee (JMC) for formal review, approval, and issuance.
It is worth noting that, in upstream oil and gas development projects, the Contract Strategy Document is inherently dynamic and adaptable. As a Live Document, it is continuously reviewed and updated to reflect evolving project implementation requirements, changes in the business environment, technical considerations, Employer requirements, and the Contractor's execution commitments.
