The documentary Forgotten, attended by DACO's Chief Executive Officer, deputy chief executives, senior managers, and the film's director, provided an opportunity to emphasize the importance of restoring the Hoor Al-Azim Wetland and protecting the environment of the Azadegan region.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Dasht Azadegan Arvand Oil & Gas Development Company (DACO), the documentary Forgotten, directed by Mehdi Afsharnik, was screened during a meeting attended by DACO's CEO and members of the Company's project planning team.
The documentary examines the environmental challenges associated with the Azadegan Oil Field and the Hoor Al-Azim Wetland, with the objective of raising awareness among senior management and project planners about the importance of wetland restoration, environmental conservation, and the integration of social responsibility into upstream oil and gas development activities.
Through a problem-oriented narrative, the film explores the environmental impacts associated with oil industry operations in this ecologically sensitive region while highlighting the importance of preserving the unique ecosystem of the Hoor Al-Azim Wetland and the Dasht Azadegan area.
The screening, followed by remarks from the film's director, provided a valuable platform for discussion and reflection on the necessity of incorporating environmental restoration and conservation measures into DACO's future development strategies and project planning.
Director Mehdi Afsharnik noted that the documentary, produced with the support of the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), was created to underscore the essential role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in industrial development and to emphasize the importance of safeguarding natural resources for future generations.
